“A great photograph is one that fully expresses what one feels, in the deepest sense, about what is being photographed.”
About Kristina Belantes
I’m a photographer and artist currently based in Sacramento, CA (previously in San Diego). Since 2015, I’ve grown an interest in the human figure and insecurities we have about our appearance as individuals. My work in 自由 shows the aestheticism and exploration of the human figure, focusing on imperfections and modifications. This body of work aims to instill acceptance in oneself and push the boundaries of what’s acceptable or frowned upon in today’s society.
My other interests are urban, street, landscape, and analog photography. Using compositional techniques, I’m drawn to the mundane, isolation, and solitude. I’m also interested in different alternative processes such as cyanotypes.
